CAFE Publication Award for Edited Books
The Canadian Association of Foundations of Education (CAFE) is seeking submissions of edited books for the CAFE Publications Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize edited books that have made a major contribution to knowledge in the disciplines that fall under the rubric of foundations of education. These disciplines generally include history, philosophy, and sociology of education, but also include other disciplines that contribute to educational theory. This award will be presented at the CAFE Annual Meeting during the CSSE Conference.
Criteria
The book must be published between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2020.
Review Criteria
Makes an exceptional contribution to knowledge in foundations of education; addresses an issue of high-interest in the disciplines of the foundations of education; a selection of authors that engage diverse orientations to the issue; engages in a timely way with the issue under consideration, highlighting contemporary relevance to the foundations of education in Canada.
Eligibility
Authors are required to be members in good standing of CSSE and CAFE at the time of submission.
Submission Requirements
Interested authors should submit a letter by email to the Chair of the CAFE Publications Award Committee, Dr. Jeannie Kerr at je.kerr@uwinnipeg.ca, clearly articulating the alignment of the award with the submitted book. Instructions for mailing 4 hard copies of the book will be provided by return email and must be completed by the end of February, 2021. All nominations will be kept confidential. The committee reserves the right not to issue the award in the absence of a nomination that meets the award criteria.
