The Canadian Association of Foundations of Education / l’Association canadienne pour l’étude des fondements en éducation (CAFE/ACÉFÉ) brings together scholarship and practice in educational history, philosophy, and sociology. Its purpose is the promotion of scholarship, teaching, and learning in these three fields across the Canadian landscape. These areas are represented by the following three official special interest groups within CAFE/ACÉFÉ:

The Canadian Philosophy of Education Society is devoted to philosophical inquiry into educational issues and their relevance for developing educative, caring, and just teachers, schools, and communities.

The Canadian Association of Sociology of Education / L'Association canadienne de sociologie de l’éducation is a supportive intellectual community of students, practitioners and scholars who engage regularly with the Canadian and international sociological literature in conducting their research, teaching, and/or practice.
