CAFE Publication Award for single or co-authored peer-reviewed journal article – Due Date January 31, 2025

CAFE is seeking submissions of peer-reviewed single or co-authored journal articles published between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2024. The purpose of this award is to recognize peer-reviewed articles that have made a major contribution to knowledge in the disciplines that fall under the rubric of the foundations of education. These disciplines generally include history, philosophy, and sociology of education, but also include other disciplines in the humanities and social sciences that contribute to educational theory. CAFE Publication Award for Edited Book – Due Date January 31, 2025

CAFE is seeking submissions of edited books published between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2023 that have made/are making a major contribution to knowledge in the disciplines that fall under the rubric of the foundations of education. Please note that submissions must be received from the editors rather than series editors or publishers. Please email with queries to ensure re-submissions from last year. E. Lisa Panayotidis Dissertation Award in the Foundations of Education – Due Date January 31, 2025  

To recognize an exceptional doctoral dissertation in Canada in the foundations of education of a doctoral graduate from the previous calendar year. We are accepting nominations for dissertations defended between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2024. Full call available here.

Outstanding Master’s Thesis Award – Due Date January 31, 2025

To recognize an exceptional master’s thesis in Canada in the foundations of education of a master degree graduate. We are accepting nominations for theses defended between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2024. Full call available here.

 

Outstanding Advising and Mentoring Award – Due Date February 28, 2025 

To recognize outstanding advising and mentoring of students in education by a Canadian faculty member in the foundations of education. Full call available here.

 

Distinguished Service Award – Due Date February 28, 2025

To recognize CAFE members that demonstrate award-worthy service over a significant period of time to CAFE through advocacy of CAFE and its mission in the foundations of education, and leadership in initiatives relevant to CAFE and its members. Full call available here.
