CAFE Publication Award 

for Single or Multi-authored Peer-Reviewed Journal Article

CAFE  is seeking submissions of peer-reviewed single or multi-authored journal articles published between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2018.  The purpose of this award is to recognize peer-reviewed articles that have made a major contribution to knowledge in the disciplines that fall under the rubric of the foundations of education. These disciplines generally include history, philosophy, and sociology of education, but also include other disciplines in the humanities and social sciences that contribute to educational theory. Authors are invited to submit their articles for consideration by January 31, 2019.  This award recipient will be honoured during the CSSE Conference in June 2019.  



The article must be published in a blinded peer-review journal publication between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2018.


Review Criteria:

The CSSE journal submission criteria are the basis for review. Outstanding articles are those that make a rare and exceptional contribution to knowledge in the foundations of education in Canada.



Authors must be members in good standing of CSSE and CAFE at the time of submission and award.

Submission Requirements:

Interested authors should submit a pdf of their article to the Chair of the CAFE Publications Awards Committee by email, along with a cover letter clearly articulating how their article makes a rare and/or exceptional contribution to knowledge in the foundations of education in Canada.  The Chair will provide an email submission receipt.  Contact the Chair if you do not receive this receipt before the deadline.  Late submissions will not be accepted.


Applications for this award will be accepted no later than January 31, 2019. Deadline has been extended to February 15, 2019
