CAFE is present each year at the CSSE Annual Conference, held in conjunction with the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences. This bilingual conference provides an opportunity for discussion of educational issues among practitioners and educational scholars from across the nation.

We are very pleased to announce our Call for Proposals for a CAFE Preconference at CSSE scheduled for the preconference day of May 30, 2026:

Post-TRC Changes to Education in Canada: Exploring the Complexities of Education 10 Years After the “Calls to Action”

The CAFE Preconference provides a dedicated space for focused discussions and networking among scholars, practitioners, and graduate students with shared interest in post-TRC changes in K-12, teacher education and higher education settings. We welcome proposals that draw on the disciplines of history, philosophy, sociology and inter-disciplinary studies in education. Please reach out to CAFE President, Jeannie Kerr at jkerr@sfu.ca or CAFE Program Chair, Gemma Porter at geporter@stu.ca with any questions.

Please find the Call for Proposals here.

We look forward to an exciting day with you!
